My approach to learning is rooted in the belief that all individuals can achieve mastery through intentional and scientifically-informed practice. This philosophy begins with embracing a growth mindset and understanding that intelligence and abilities aren't fixed but can be developed through dedication and effort. To make learning accessible and engaging for everyone, I apply the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), providing multiple means of engagement, representation, and action & expression. This flexibility addresses the inherent variability in human brains, a concept supported by neuroscience.
Effective learning leverages the brain's ability to switch between focused learning, which involves deep, concentrated effort to encode specific information or solve targeted problems (often engaging the prefrontal cortex), and diffused learning, a relaxed, free-flowing mode that allows the brain to make broader connections, consolidate concepts, and solve problems creatively in the background. By strategically alternating these two modes, we optimize the neural pathways for retention and deep understanding, moving from initial encoding to long-term memory formation.
Terms & Conditions
Payment: A 50% retainer is required upon contract signing for all Project-Based work. Invoices for hourly work and retainers are issued monthly.
Scoping: All Project-Based work requires an initial scoping session (billed at the hourly rate) to define deliverables, timelines, and fixed costs.
Cancellation: Workshops cancelled less than 14 days in advance are subject to a 25% cancellation fee.
